    Domain Authority

Domain authority is a search engine optimization (SEO) metric that evaluates a website’s overall success in search results on a scale of one to 100.

    What Is Domain Authority?

Because search engine optimization (SEO) is constantly evolving, it’s often difficult for businesses to know whether their efforts are proving successful or not. Domain authority is a metric that assesses the website’s success in search results, delivering a score between one and 100.

The domain authority metric was created by a company called Moz, which identified 40 factors — including ranking keywords, inbound links, linking domains, and more — to consider when determining SEO success.

If a website uses these elements strategically throughout its site, such as garnering a large number of inbound links from highly relevant sources, it’ll receive a higher score closer to 100.

Businesses can check their domain authority by using Moz’s free digital tool. It’s a useful metric for evaluating an entire website’s search success, but it should always be used in conjunction with other analytics, such as page authority, traffic, and bounce rates.
