    Amazon Shopping

Amazon shopping is when consumers find, browse, and purchase products via one of the largest online marketplaces in the world.

    What Is Amazon Shopping?

Amazon started in the 1990s as an online bookstore, but rapidly evolved into one of the largest ecommerce marketplaces in existence. Amazon shopping occurs when consumers use the marketplace to find and purchase products; engage with online sellers and brands; search for the best prices and value for particular products; build product registries; and more.

When shopping on Amazon, consumers engage with the site much like they would a search engine. They type a query into the search bar or use search filters to find the product and price that best suits their needs. Then, they place the item in their online shopping cart and use a virtual point-of-sale (POS) system to checkout efficiently. Items are shipped directly to consumers or to select warehouses for pickup.

Sellers who optimize their product listings with strategic keywords, descriptions, videos, images, and competitive pricing are poised to win business on Amazon.
