Today’s brands must manage an ever-growing volume of product data, relying on it to create engaging experiences on their direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels, retailers’ websites, online marketplaces, and social media.
As more internal and external stakeholders need access to up-to-date, accurate product content, the need for effective tools to share it all also increases.
To meet these expanding needs and streamline product information management (PIM), many brands have turned to the Salsify Product Experience Management (PXM) platform, allowing them to easily share product data with partners, distributors, and internal teams.
Salsify has released even more tools to help brands optimize their product data. Salsify Catalog Sites builds on the best-in-class PIM capabilities to transform product content into an engaging branded catalog and site experience.
Digital catalogs enable brand manufacturers and their teams, partners, and distributors to access accurate, updated product data. The catalogs include features that allow users to easily filter product content by attributes, such as color, size, brand, or any other attributes stored in the PIM.
Your brand can use digital product catalogs in several ways:
With these powerful capabilities, digital product catalogs enable your brand to improve efficiency and deliver enhanced product experiences.
Salsify Catalog Sites allow brands to securely share always-up-to-date product information using dynamic digital catalogs that help stakeholders self-serve information more quickly and efficiently.
Catalog Sites are completely configurable web pages that your team can publish using product data that already exists within the Salsify PXM platform.
Instead of applying manual methods, like sharing spreadsheets or emailing product information to different stakeholders, you can use this tool to easily share links to each digital product catalog your team creates, democratizing access to your product data.
Catalog Sites offer a range of modern features that drive better product information management and product experiences:
Catalog Sites feature custom colors, buttons, and logos that your brand can use to create an experience that visually aligns with the branded experiences you offer on other channels. The tool also supports different product displays for user-friendly browsing and various options for users to filter products by size, color, or style.
Catalog Sites automatically sync with the product data, images, and assets your brand stores in the Salsify PXM platform. This ensures any updates to product details are automatically reflected in the catalog and that users have access to the most accurate information.
Along with providing shareable links, Catalog Sites enable users to download product data or perform customized product exports into retailer-specific templates.
This streamlined, self-service option cuts down on back-and-forth emailing and gives your internal teams and partners access to the information they need without delay. You can also use Salsify’s flexible sharing functions to prevent exports and allow read-only access to your product data.
Sometimes, you need to share sensitive or unique information with specific parties.
It’s critical to protect this data and make sure only authorized users can access it, which is why Catalog Sites offers robust security to go along with its modern, user-friendly features. Secure Sites offers a scalable security authentication solution for Catalog Sites, helping your brand control who has access to certain catalogs or product data.
The feature uses passwordless authentication with one-time passcodes sent via email to approved users. Your brand also has the option to whitelist specific domains (instead of individual users) for more scalable user access management, ensuring only approved internal or external users can view the catalog.
Additionally, you can make the shareable links to each catalog time-sensitive so they expire after a certain period, further enhancing data protection. Catalog Sites provides user access logs for Secure Sites to give you visibility into which users access your Sites and help support compliance efforts.
Salsify customers are already taking advantage of these powerful features to drive better product experiences. The iconic sports brand Rawlings, for example, is using Catalog Sites to create shoppable experiences for its clients.
Founded in 1887, Rawlings has long been a leader in the sporting goods industry. Today, the company has more than 9,000 SKUs and is constantly introducing new products.
However, the brand has struggled to provide up-to-date product information to its retail partners, some of whom include smaller retailers that lack automated PIM or content onboarding tools. The company also needed to empower its more than 40 sales representatives to better service both small and large accounts.
Rawlings turned to Salsify Catalog Sites to address these challenges.
The company used the tool to give its internal teams and partners access to a curated, read-only view of its product data. Rawlings was able to streamline the delivery of inventory information, product specifications, marketing copy, and digital assets to each product detail page (PDP) for each SKU.
Now, Catalog Sites enables Rawlings’ sales team and its customers to spend less time searching for relevant product information. Tailored product displays also provide a customized experience for users, ensuring Rawlings promotes the products it wants for each retailer or each client account.
According to Matthew Patston, senior content manager at Rawlings, Catalog Sites has reduced the time it takes for users to access content from 10 minutes to a mere 10 seconds. Internal teams can easily access search engine optimization (SEO)-friendly product content, including product images, meta titles, and meta descriptions, for use across channels.
Catalog Sites allows Rawlings to develop differentiated, shoppable experiences for its clients and retail partners, provide self-service access to curated product data, and create a single source of truth for its product content.
“Salsify Catalog Sites is really helping the team work a little bit faster and unlock a little bit more time in everyone's schedule to keep on optimizing things.”
— Matthew Patston, Senior Content Manager, Rawlings
As brands look to create a truly omnichannel business, they’ll need dynamic, scalable solutions that empower them to manage, distribute, and secure product data more effectively.
Salsify Catalog Sites enables them to seamlessly share product information with internal teams, partners, and distributors, and deliver engaging, on-brand product experiences that set them apart from their competition.
