How Mars Consolidated its Data to Fuel the Digital Shelf | Salsify
Mars, Inc became the $35 billion conglomerate it is today by expanding its portfolio and selling some of the biggest brands in the world. However, for every brand within this large portfolio the challenge is in often in managing all the product information needed to sell on the digital shelf.
According to Katherine Buharina, digital content manager at Mars’ Royal Canin division, it took a lot of resources to organize all the data for the pet care brand into a consolidated view. In fact, nobody at the company knew how many products and SKUs they actually had listed online. The team licensed Salsify to gather all their product information and store it in one place. Salsify now serves as the single source of truth for Mars products for more than a dozen brands.
