DownloadMcommerce refers to transactions completed via a consumer’s mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet.
Mcommerce, also called mobile commerce, is the next iteration of ecommerce, as it allows consumers to purchase products from their handheld devices no matter where they are. Since the vast majority of consumers not only own a smartphone but also use it to find and research products, mobile commerce has proliferated significantly in the past few years.
For ecommerce businesses to capture mobile consumers, however, they need to ensure their websites, product pages, and payment processing tools are mobile-responsive.
Many platforms and businesses have created mobile-friendly pathways to purchase to make it as easy as possible for consumers to buy products via their smartphones. Social media platforms like Instagram, for example, now include buttons that enable consumers to purchase products directly from their mobile app. Other brands have followed suit with their own mobile apps and mobile-responsive user interfaces. As consumers increasingly look for convenience, mobile commerce will only continue to grow.
