About Bugaboo
Bugaboo built its global reputation by offering premium strollers and baby gear engineered to meet the needs of parents raising families. As a multibrand parent company owned by Mubadala, Bugaboo continues to scale globally through brand proliferation and strategic acquisitions.
When you build high-end baby gear, you need to focus heavily on product data, a critical aspect of the buyer journey. After all, parents who research strollers, car seats, and high chairs require exact dimensions, safety certifications, fabric details, colorway options, and accessory compatibility.
As premium baby gear brand Bugaboo scaled, managing these specific details became increasingly difficult. Expanding to 16 sales channels — most of them Amazon marketplaces — in different countries meant juggling thousands of localized product attributes at once.
Behind the scenes, Bugaboo faced several operational bottlenecks:
-
Siloed content and overlapping systems: Product images, copy, and technical specs lived across many systems with no single source of truth. At the same time, upstream systems handled product experience management, resulting in overextension and overlap.
-
Rigid data models and governance friction: Because all brands and categories were focused into a single hierarchy, managing complex regional compliance (e.g., U.K. vs. E.U. standards) and localized marketplace requirements created endless manual rework.
-
Slow time to market: Heavy reliance on third-party agencies for channel content and manual feed formatting pushed product launch timelines out by weeks, causing Bugaboo to miss critical sales momentum.
Bugaboo needed a centralized product experience platform to support flexible multibrand modeling, streamline governance, and power direct marketplace syndication, especially to Amazon.
Bugaboo partnered with ChannelEngine and Salsify to transform its digital shelf operations. Salsify Product Experience Management (PXM) supports product content across markets, while ChannelEngine manages global marketplace operations and order flow.
Together, the two platforms connect product content management with marketplace execution, giving Bugaboo a more scalable setup for managing growth across brands and markets.
Key components of the solution included:
-
Multibrand single source of truth: The PXM centralized master product data into a unified platform capable of hosting multihierarchy models and polymorphic schemas tailored to distinct brands.
-
Automated governance and granular control: The solution implemented strict readiness policies, market-specific eligibility rules, and approval audit trails to ensure data quality before export.
-
Direct syndication and channel execution: Salsify leveraged native connectors (including Amazon and Salesforce Commerce Cloud) alongside ChannelEngine to route structured feeds across international channels without relying on costly agency workarounds.
-
Cross-country marketplace operations: ChannelEngine managed marketplace offers, pricing, inventory, orders, and returns across countries, while organizing country-specific tenants and backend regional operations.
As Rico Nollmeyer, Global Marketplace Manager of Bugaboo, explains:
“The combination of both [brands] actually covers everything: ChannelEngine with all the operational and supply chain information, and Salsify with all the product content.”

Putting Salsify and ChannelEngine at the center of their tech stack enabled Bugaboo to realize immediate operational efficiency and global scale:
-
93% reduction in launch time: Product launch prep fell from weeks to 24 hours. Seasonal colorways and new collections hit global channels in a single day rather than sitting in staging for a month.
-
16% Amazon gross merchandise value (GMV) growth year over year.
-
65% increase in total marketplace GMV from June 2025 to June 2026.
-
90% process automation: Automated workflows replaced manual work and spreadsheet reformatting, freeing ecommerce teams to focus on strategic growth and channel expansion.
-
Consistent product content: The brand standardized product assets and compatibility guidance across markets.
-
Less agency work: The team now handles detailed launch work internally, reducing reliance on and costs of working an agency.
With a more scalable marketplace setup in place, Bugaboo can now work on adding new markets without the same operational effort each time.
“We already have at least two or three new Amazon markets on the roadmap. That wouldn’t be possible without our current setup with ChannelEngine. It’s saving us so much time.” — Rico Nollmeyer, Global Marketplace Manager of Bugaboo
