“It's been a huge pivot for our team to go from tactical to strategic. It's been a win, and we've seen a lot of digital penetration growth in our omnichannel and our ecommerce pure player customers.”
– Ashley DiPalma, Sr Dir of eCommerce, Wells Lamont“With our new product launches, we were able to trigger workflows altogether, versus using spreadsheets and different ways of importing the information. It helped us go to market faster versus living in various locations.”
– Ashley DiPalma, Sr Dir of eCommerce, Wells LamontI'm with Marmon Love Group. We represent brands Wells Lamont, Tucker Safety Products, and Wells Lamont Industrial. We became a Salsify customer about a year ago today with this company, but I've used Salsify for years at prior companies.
When I started at the company, data was in multiple places. I onboarded, I asked where can I find product information to familiarize myself, and I was directed to spreadsheets – by retailer, by season, and then into data image folders on the VPN drive. You had to be connected to see them. They weren't labeled very intuitively. It was really fragmented. It was hard to locate anything in an efficient way. I'd used Salsify before, so I knew there was a better way. I advocated and we onboarded in Q2 of last year. And since then, we have a source of truth where we can access all of our product data, imagery, content, make updates easily, and it's been such a time saving for our team as well.
With Catalogs, we were able to syndicate information out to our external parties, whether it be our internal sales team, that don't use the Salsify platform, through Catalogs they were able to access images, content, anything they needed for their retail partner just to educate themselves in the field, as well as our external sales team. We were able to leverage those in a really efficient way. And then, with the light boxes, we use those more for our external marketing agency partners, providing brand guides, logos, any assets that were easy to download and curate the assortment of what we were sending to them.
And then with Workflows, which is my favorite thing we like lastly implemented, after we cleansed everything, we were able to help make sure our historical data was complete. Any items we imported into Salsify, if there was property missing, we were able to trigger a workflow to either the product or marketing team to complete those. Or with our new product launches, we were able to trigger workflows altogether versus using spreadsheets and different ways of importing the information. We could trigger to the team member, “hey, these properties are due when we need them.” It helped us go to market faster versus living in various locations.
It's been a lot of efficiency gains. They used to spend hours in manual spreadsheets or in a customer's portal trying to do item setups or even updating a PDP, whether it's switching out one image, then you having to go and do it across multiple retailers.
Now with Salsify, we can do that in minutes versus hours. I can have our team pivot to more sales revenue driving activities. We can test things. We can analyze them and then implement more digital strategy that actually drives our revenue and share of shelf. It's been a huge pivot for our team to go from tactical to strategic. It's been a win and we've seen a lot of digital penetration growth in our omnichannel and our ecommerce pure player customers.
