DownloadWarehouse automation is the process of using technologies to streamline warehouse-related tasks, such as moving, picking, or tracking inventory.
Warehouse automation saves brands the time they'd otherwise spend managing their warehouse manually. It involves employing technologies to handle repetitive or labor-intensive tasks, thereby freeing up human warehouse workers to focus on more complex tasks.
A brand or manufacturer could use a robot, for example, to move inventory around the warehouse as needed.
Or, they could employ an inventory tracking system that automates the process of identifying where items live within a warehouse — a particularly helpful tool for enterprise organizations. Alternatively, they can use machine-learning (ML) solutions to automatically identify the most optimal storage arrangements to efficiently facilitate product picking and packaging.
In these ways — and many more — warehouse automation improves a brand or manufacturer's efficiency, which, in turn, enables them to move through the supply chain process more seamlessly.
