The holiday season is right around the corner, and with it comes the quarter four (Q4) scramble to launch, update, optimize, and syndicate product content across every channel.
Brands must go above and beyond to create a seamless holiday shopping experience, but time and team constraints can throw a wrench in even the best-laid strategies. Salsify’s OpenAI integration allows users to connect their OpenAI account directly in Salsify with a secret application programming interface (API) key. This API acts like an address, allowing information to be safely and securely transferred between OpenAI and Salsify.
Once this connection is established, users can then request prompts that reference properties living in Salsify. For example, you can prompt OpenAI to create a product description based on feature bullets or to auto-translate and localize product copy.
To fulfill prompt requests, OpenAI requires users to purchase tokens, which are “common sequences of characters found in a set of text.” These tokens are inexpensive, and users can set an established budget.
Keep in mind that OpenAI isn’t the same as ChatGPT. OpenAI is the company that develops advanced AI technologies, and ChatGPT is one of its tools that enables people to interact with these models conversationally.
