Many brand emails are designed to target large segments of customers to encourage them to engage with the brand or make a purchase. Transactional emails are a bit different than these marketing emails, as they're designed to connect with a single shopper and often include that shopper's specific information.
These can include emails asking an individual customer to create an account, verify an account, or reset their password. Transactional emails can also include messages that confirm a purchase, provide a receipt, or welcome a new customer to the brand.
These emails are called "transactional" because they're often triggered by a specific customer action, such as placing an order or signing up for an account.
