Product returns can be difficult for brands to handle manually, as they involve significant logistical effort and can cause financial strain. Returns management software takes much of this burden off of brand teams by automating the tasks related to processing a product return.
In most cases, returns management software comes in the form of a portal through which customers can log their return, process their financial return, and receive a printable shipping label to send the product back to the brand. The returns management software then tracks the return through the shipping process, providing status notifications to both the brand and the customer at each stage.
Additionally, many software solutions can give the brand critical data on the financial and operational impact of their returns, enabling teams to better manage their inventory, produce more accurate product descriptions that generate fewer returns, and engage in more effective customer service.
