DownloadEnd-of-life (EOL) products are items that are removed from shelves because they have reached either their perishability dates or the end of their product lifecycle.
The product life cycle refers to the stages of a product's development, launch, demand growth, and ultimate decline. End-of-life (EOL) products are those that have reached the end stages of their lifecycle, either because consumer or market demand has shifted or because the item is no longer viable for shelves.
Products reach the end of their lifecycle at varying times. Perishable grocery items, for example, might reach end-of-life when they're no longer safe for consumption. Other products might be at the end of their lifecycle when market trends have outpaced the item's usefulness to consumers.
In either of these cases, brands and retailers remove end-of-life (EOL) products from digital and in-store shelves and replace them with new or updated items.
