Brand manufacturers need to change how they sell to consumers. Digital Commerce 360 found that ecommerce sales in the US were up 44% last year. While COVID-19 drove many shoppers online due to in-store restrictions and statewide lockdowns, the pandemic accelerated a shift that was already in motion. In 2015, US retail ecommerce sales accounted for 7.3% of total retail sales, according to the US Department of Commerce. This figure grew to 11.0% in 2019, over a 50% increase in five years.
