    Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)

The Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a set of interconnected and interoperable data pools that enables brands to transfer supply chain data to their trading partners.

What Is the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)?

Developed and governed by GS1 global standards, the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) was designed to make it easy for trading partners to define, map, and share logistics, shipping, and regulatory information. It’s a secure network of interconnected data pools that allow partners within a value chain to share and manage information efficiently.

Because data pools can sync information across a number of platforms or users, they keep one source of truth at the core of any value chain. Made up of a network of data pools, the Global Data Synchronization Network (GSDN) allows an uninterrupted flow of information, without impacting data quality.

To effectively use the Global Data Synchronization Network, however, organizations need to align their product data with GS1 requirements. Many companies use a data management system to ensure their product attribute information aligns with regulations. Then, they can publish their data through this global network to reach other organizations in their supply chain.
