Target Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)

The Target Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is Target’s preferred network of data pools that enable suppliers to send and receive product data from the retailer.

What Is the Target Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)?

A Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a network of interconnected data pools that utilize a common language set by GS1 global standards to relay product data within a supply chain. The Target Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is Target’s preferred network, which connects with suppliers and manufacturers who sell items through the retail giant.

A GDSN is a tool used for logistics, shipping, and regulatory compliance, allowing brands to create and input standards-aligned product attributes, then send those attributes to retailers via interconnected and interoperable data pools. Suppliers can use the Target Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) to send product information for Target to use to sell products on the shelves and online.

Because the Target GDSN aligns with GS1 global standards, suppliers can only input valid attributes. This allows for a continuous flow of information, ultimately streamlining the supply chain and maintaining data quality.
