    Salsify Brand Guidelines

    Our brand guidelines offer clear instructions for how to use Salsify logos, colors, fonts, and typography. Following our brand guidelines ensures consistency across content mediums, ensuring a cohesive, recognizable, and distinct brand identity on all channels.

    Logo Use on Backgrounds

    Select the white or “Salsify Blue” logos based on the background’s contrast. Ensure
    background colors do not clash or have low contrast with the logos.

    Logo Dos and Don’ts

    Using our logo consistently and appropriately is crucial to maintaining
    a strong and cohesive brand identity.

    Color

    Our brand’s wide range of colors should be used selectively and strategically. We leverage white space as a main theme, with our bright colors constrained and contained in heroes, calls to action, and brand shapes.

    With white or very light gray used as primary background colors, we avoid color on top of color blocks. Dark navy is used as an alternate background and creates a branding bridge to the Digital Shelf Institute (DSI).

    Typography

    Our brand’s primary and universal font is Proxima Nova. There are secondary fonts available to the Marketing team designated for design purposes only. With Google Slides or web applications, our brand font defaults to Arial, which is web-safe.

    Images and Photography

    Our image and photography treatment is based on the foundation of our brand shapes. The interplay of shapes and photography becomes our brand elements, which further convey the versatility of the message.

    Standard Placeholder

    This is your standard image and photo container. It can be any size or aspect ratio, and has slightly rounded corners. This will fit most images and photos.

     

    Image Containers

    Our shape treatments use rounded rectangle groupings and our brand colors to contain relevant photos.

     

    Iconography

    Our Salsify icon set is custom designed to expand our use of brand shapes and portray simplicity of message. We leverage these icons as tertiary images to visually support brief messages or bullets.

    Voice & Tone

    Our voice is constant and reflective of our brand personality. We put a spotlight on industry leaders, sharing their stories, interviews, and quotes to capture their unique perspectives. We break down complex themes and topics in a familiar, friendly, and straightforward way. We inject humor, clever asides, and funny anecdotes to engage our audience. We track down the data, sources, and evidence our audience needs to make smart, informed decisions.

    Our tone is flexible and dependent on the context, audience, and purpose of the content. Focus on offering value first and foremost, and add humor where appropriate. Always consider the context, audience, and purpose of the content and adapt the tone to fit the situation.
