This Role:

This position is responsible for driving the thought leadership strategy through execution, including PR, Tradeshows, Analyst engagements, speaking engagements, social media and thought leadership content. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing

Thought Leadership:

  • You are going to build a category. Help craft and fine tune the story that we tell to create awareness and understanding.

  • Identify key conferences and tradeshows and secure opportunistic speaking opportunities, manage submissions from us, with partners and customers.

 Communications:

  • Build and own a strategic plan for communications through close collaboration with key internal stakeholders

  • Ensure our messaging and voice is consistent and aligned with company’s overarching messaging.

  • Manage external PR resources; define media relations strategy and tactics, ensure agency understands and follows plan, and is delivering consistent results

  • Coordinate spokespeople for rapid response to media inquiries (internal, customers and external)

  • Write press releases (with PR Agency), blog posts, articles and other media materials

  • Keep up-to-date on the latest trends and news in the Ecommerce and Product Content space.

  • Oversee analyst relations in partnership with product marketing and CEO

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy, including influencer relations and community management

  • Uncover and share stories from within our organization and from across our industry.

  • Build relationships with key leaders and organizations in the industry, work with industry leaders and partners to create opportunities to tell the story.

  • Identify tradeshows, secure opportunistic speaking opportunities, manage submissions and organize booth logistics

Content

  • Lead the creation and successful execution of a robust content marketing strategy

  • Create best in class content that inspires and informs our target audience and define and manage to performance metrics

  • Manage content marketing projects using internal and external resources from conception through execution including; lead generation and nurturing content (like white papers/eBooks), webinars and event content, infographics, award submissions, newsletter, social media content, video

  • Be the company evangelist for content marketing, educating and driving support from all parts of the organization.

  • Serve as managing editor of the blog, including editorial oversight, workflow, internal & external resources, content calendar & KPIs.

Experience:

  • 6 -8 years of experience in B2B (mid to enterprise) Marketing Communications

  • Early to mid stage tech startup experience a plus, but will consider candidate with agency experience as well

  • Previous experience with the Marcomm Toolkit: managing and measuring PR, content (WP, Ebook, Blog), social channels, analyst relations and tradeshows

  • Tangible examples of when you have successfully created and told a story, leveraging the tools in your toolkit – building categories and brands

  • Editorial management of content teams (internal and external)

  • Impeccable writing and editorial skill set in order to assure all public communications are of the highest standard

  • Proven ability to proactively work cross-functionally and prioritize heavy workloads for you and your team

  • SaaS & Retail/Ecommerce experience are nice to have, but can be taught
